I didn’t join this wellness space expecting manipulation; I entered seeking connection, only to discover how easily belonging can be leveraged into quiet obedience.
Yeah. You know I know. How are you doing these days, Lane? He's an extreme but I see versions of him across the wellness space. Nick Norwitz. Keto guy. Rising YouTube star. Within 60 seconds of seeing a Substack comment of mine that challenged his narrative it was immediately deleted. There is to no questioning of the leader. I don't get it. I just posted my artery scans online and I intend to hound all these wellnesd leaders for refusing to do the same. They never, ever, want to be personally accountable to their sheep followers for anything. They are story-tellers who gather children around the campfire to tell the story to, and to profit from. And the children feel warm and fuzzy.
It is wild to see how many of these influencers are taking advantage of so many people who are scared, broken and seeking health and options to support whatever it is they are going through. They do profit in the thousands and more! This is such a bigger conversation that I hope to keep uncovering as I heal and write more here in Unregulated. Oh my gosh what an ordeal! I haven’t ever been in this situation, but holy hell I’m so glad you are on the other side of it now. I’m so curious as to who the wellness guru is.. I got beachbody and Tony whatever his last name is vibes. That whole industry came off as gross to me.

Such an awesome article Lane!! I was aware of the person in question way back in the day in several other FB groups, and will say the behavior wasn't much different then (only more bold now). Hopefully you are well recovered from your ER experience (I had my own ER experience as well, one related to my own doing and one related to a product pumped by said person, and it is something that sticks with you). Thanks for sharing!!!
The challenge though is being able to sift through all the information to determine which is actually of value and which is just bs.

Gosh, I'd love to hear about the product! He is a dangerous person in so many ways. I continue to pray for him and his family. Thank you for being on the healing journey with me. I'm still up and down, continuing to heal; some days are better, but I'm not 100%. Counting the days to be back in my body again and back at a gym and laughing about life!
